Behaviour Support Assistant - Secondary & Post-16 (Cardiff) Full-Time & Long-Term Opportunities Available Pay: £13.68 to £14.68 p/h (depending on qualifications and level of experience) We are seeking resilient and motivated Behaviour Support Assistants to join a specialist secondary and further education provision in Cardiff, supporting learners with Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties (BESD) and complex needs. This is an excellent opportunity for Behaviour Support Assistants with experience of challenging behaviour who are passionate about helping young people re-engage with education and achieve positive outcomes. The Role: Supporting students aged 11-19 in a specialist setting Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour in and out of the classroom Building positive relationships to promote trust, engagement, and resilience Assisting with academic work as well as social and emotional development Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and external agencies The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Previous experience working with learners with challenging behaviour / BESD / SEMH PREVENT training (essential) Training or practical experience in de-escalation techniques Confidence supporting students who may display disruptive, disengaged, or physically aggressive behaviour A calm, professional, and resilient approach with excellent communication skills Teamwork skills and the ability to remain consistent under pressure We Offer: Competitive daily pay rates of £13.68 to £14.68 per hour Ongoing CPD including behaviour management and safeguarding training Support from a dedicated consultant who understands the needs of specialist provisions Opportunities for long-term and permanent positions This is a rewarding role for someone with the confidence, patience, and resilience to make a difference in the lives of students who need strong and supportive role models.
