Hays Property and Surveying are seeking a Senior Building Surveyor to join a well-established construction consultancy based in South Oxfordshire.
Thepany is a multidisciplinary construction consultancy with several offices located across the South of England. They provide surveying, engineering and design expertise to the construction industry, advising throughout all stages of a project, with strong experience across a broad range of sectors.
The Oxfordshire office is home to a small, high-performing Building Surveying team with a healthy pipeline of work and ambitions to grow. The team is looking to expand with the appointment of a new Senior Building Surveyor, working closely with the department lead to develop their offering and client base across the region. The role benefits from thepany's hybrid working policy, with an expectation to attend the office 3 days a week.
Your new role
As a Senior Building Surveyor, you will work autonomously, and as part of a small team, taking a collaborative approach to delivering projects and building surveying services. Your role will see you operate across a blend of professional and project-related work, supporting a portfolio of keymercial clients from a variety of sectors including, motorsport, retail & leisure, logistics and utilities. Key responsibilties -
1. Deliver a variety of small to medium-sized construction projects from feasibility through topletion
2. Produce specifications, schedules of work, project budgets and cost estimates.
3. Prepare condition reports, feasibility studies and option appraisals.
4. Manage contract tenders, prepare and submit planning and building control applications.
5. Undertake contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
6. Undertake a variety of professional work including defect analysis, due diligence reports, pre-acquisition surveys and PPM schedules.
7. Prepare fee proposals, undertake business development and build new and existing client relationships.
8. Work closely with the head of department, contributing to growth and ensuring key business objectives are achieved.
What you'll need to succeed
9. MRICS qualified - essential
10. Significant post-qualification Building Surveying experience working within a consultancy / surveying practice.
11. Proficent expeirence in a range of proffessional Building Surveying services.
12. Proven experience of managing a range of construction projects across multiple sectors.
13. Strong report writing skills.
14. Be self-motivated with excellent levels ofmercial awareness and client facing skills.
