This is a fulltime, permanent position, working a flexible 35 hour week, Monday – Friday.

The purpose of this job is to support the site’s EHS programme by ensuring compliance, promoting a strong safety culture, and driving continuous improvement. This role will manage contractor safety, maintain and coordinate EHS training requirements, lead communications and SharePoint management, and coordinate site-wide EHS initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Contractor Management:Oversee EHS compliance for contractors, including onboarding, training, and audits.Ensure adherence to site safety standards and legal requirements.
2. Training Requirements:Coordinate EHS training needs across the site, ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.Maintain training records and monitor completion rates.
3. EHS Communications:Develop and deliver clear, engaging EHS-related communications to the site.Promote awareness campaigns and safety initiatives through multiple channels.
4. SharePoint Management:Maintain and update the EHS SharePoint site as a central hub for policies, procedures, and resources.Ensure accessibility and accuracy of EHS documentation.
5. Coordination of EHS Activities & Initiatives:Organise EHS events, training sessions, and awareness programmes.Support site audits, GEMBAs, and compliance reviews.

Qualifications

6. Degree level educated, with experience of EHS in a scientific or academic environment, Formally Qualified in EHS – IOSH certification as a minimum
7. Experience of EHS in a scientific or academic environment, is essential.
8. Relevant experience working in an EHS role.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively with teams and individuals to resolve problems, schedule and prioritise work. This may include working across geographies on cross-functional teams.
10. Ability to work accurately to deadlines in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
11. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
12. Strong interpersonal skills.
13. Ability to develop and share knowledge.
14. Highly Computer literate, with in-depth knowledge of MS office and other relevant software’s.
