Food Technology Teacher (Alternative Provision) Location: Burnley, Lancashire Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent (Part-time considered for the right candidate) Salary: £32,916 - £51,047 (MPS/UPS) Start Date: 23rd February 2026 The Opportunity Are you a resilient, creative, and qualified Food Technology teacher looking to step away from the "exam factory" pressure of mainstream education? Our Burnley-based Alternative Provision (AP) supports young people (KS3-KS4) who have been excluded from, or find it difficult to access, mainstream school. We are looking for a chef-standard educator who sees a kitchen not just as a place to cook, but as a sanctuary for personal growth, sensory regulation, and vocational excellence. Your Impact In an AP setting, the curriculum is flexible. While you will lead students toward Level 1/2 Technical Awards or GCSE Food Preparation and Nutrition, your primary goal is building relationships. What you'll be doing: Engagement: Designing bespoke "hooks" to get disengaged learners back into the classroom. Life Skills: Teaching the essentials of nutrition, budgeting, and hygiene to students preparing for independent living. Therapeutic Practice: Using the tactile nature of food prep to support students with ADHD, ASC, and SEMH needs. Safety First: Maintaining a rigorous Health & Safety environment in a high-risk setting.Requirements Qualified Teacher S...
