Job Title: Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Temp to Perm
Location: Southend
Salary: £26,824 – Pro rata £21,995
We are seeking a strong Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a supportive alternative provision setting in Southend that provides high-quality education for students with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) across Key Stages 1–4.
This role will initially start as a temporary position, but there is a strong expectation that it will move to permanent for the right candidate, offering long-term stability and career growth within the setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored academic and emotional support to students, working closely with teaching staff.
Help students access the curriculum and stay engaged and motivated.
Provide one-to-one and small group support, adapting approaches to meet individual needs.
Act as a positive role model, building trusting relationships and supporting behaviour management.
Contribute to planning and implementing learning programs to meet students’ personal and academic goals.
Support transitions for students moving back into mainstream education where appropriate.
