Overview
My Local Government client is looking for a qualified and experienced Finance Manager to join them on a permanent basis. Working as part of the Children\'s and Education team, your role will be to provide technical financial advice, largely around areas including DSG, SEN block and home to school transport. You will also be responsible for managing a team and ensuring that financial awareness is developed through it.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical financial advice on DSG, SEN block and home to school transport within the Children\'s and Education team.
* Lead and manage a team, developing financial awareness.
* Advise senior members of the Council on financial matters, including setting annual budgets and ensuring robust short, medium and long term forecasts.
* Identify, analyse and report on the financial implications of new initiatives in your area of responsibility.
* Support the preparation of annual statements at year end.
Qualifications
* CCAB qualified accountant.
* Experience in Local Government finance, including DSG and Schools.
* Ability to analyse, interpret and present financial management information to key decision makers.
* Proven experience leading a team and building relationships with senior colleagues and customers.
Benefits/Details
This is a permanent role paying circa 56,000 and is being offered on a hybrid working basis with travel to the office required as agreed throughout the year.
