We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Senior Project Manager. This role is remote with extensive travel as required.
Hours of Work – Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
You will be a leader in project management deliverables and oversee complex IT projects, collaborating with business units and IT to deliver technically robust, high‑quality outcomes in alignment with business objectives and Amey strategy.
What You Will Do
* Work closely with the Principal Project Manager, leveraging their expertise to navigate ambiguity, manage risk, and address complex challenges.
* Lead initiatives with confidence, proactively resolving issues and adapting plans.
* Foster a culture of excellence and innovation, ensuring all project deliverables meet or exceed standards for quality, cost, and timeliness.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and communicate a compelling project vision.
* Establish and maintain stakeholder relationships, providing decision makers with robust evidence options and managing expectations at all projects.
* Act as a liaison between multidisciplinary teams, breaking down organisational silos.
* Work with peers to maintain standards.
* Deliver high‑impact communications to internal boards and external stakeholders, including project risk and issue updates.
* Establish and oversee collaborative partnerships with external vendors and clients.
Analysing and Planning
* Develop and monitor comprehensive initiation artifacts, ensuring projects have clear, defined scope, requirements and deliverables that contribute value.
* Maintain awareness of internal and external factors that might impact planning and delivery and make changes as required.
Design and Deliver
* Adopt robust risk management frameworks, proactively identifying, evaluating and mitigating critical threats to project delivery and benefit realisation.
* Impose rigorous financial discipline, forecasting and controlling budgets under financial constraints.
* Lead project reviews and ensure effective capture, dissemination and adoption of learnings at all organisational levels.
* Monitor and evaluate project performance metrics, aligning outcomes to key performance indicators.
* Manage and steer complex, large‑scale programmes of up to and exceeding 24 months in duration.
* Communicate for change projects across Amey.
* Travel extensively to build stakeholder relationships through face‑to‑face meetings and forums.

What You Will Bring
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate subject.
* Maintaining relevant APMP professional PM qualification.
* Full membership of the Association for Project Management.
* Ability to deliver projects of 6–24 months duration involving multiple delivery teams spanning various organisations, geographical locations or sectors.
* Engage and manage sponsors and stakeholders at Account Manager level or above.
* Excellent oral communication skills, capable of presenting arguments and ideas well and resolving conflict over priority decisions.
* Understand and advocate what ‘good’ looks like from sponsor and business perspectives.
* Strong working knowledge of relevant project management software and analytical tools.
* Take ownership for preparation and checking of deliverables and work unsupervised.
