About the Role
You are a confident facilitator with experience in the mental health field, and/or working with vulnerable adults, plus a good understanding of service user development. All you need is the perfect environment to put your skills to great use. Welcome to Waythrough as a Peer Mentor Coordinator.
Responsibilities
* Your challenge will be to work with the Team Leader, Peer Support Volunteers and clients to develop an efficient and effective Peer Support Service.
* Recruiting, training and supporting a network of volunteers who have used mental health services to help others on their recovery journey.
* Helping to develop organisational policies, procedures, protocols and systems to underpin the provision of peer support across the business.
* Identifying and implementing training, promoting the service to stakeholders and operating a fully compliant service to agreed budgets.
Qualifications
To succeed, you'll need a good understanding of the Recovery and Personalisation agenda and the principles and practice on which mental health services are run.
Required Skills
* Experience of recruiting and/or supervising volunteers would be useful too, although is not essential.
* A proven ability to consult, liaise and work collaboratively with a team of colleagues and a wide range of external organisations.
* A flexible approach to working hours.
* Well-organised and self-motivated.
* Good problem and decision-making skills are vital.
* An innate ability to cope with personal stress.
