Job Description
Seeking an experienced Rail industry Risk Manager to work with Network Rail on the Transpennine Route Upgrade project for a 6 months period. 3 days per week office present, 2 days remote. Option of Manchester or York offices.
Some of the key accountabilities of this role are:
1. Provide leadership and guidance in the concept of R&VM, maintaining their appropriate and effective application to all stages of the project lifecycle.
2. Deliver Level 1 Assurance activities as specified by the Principal R&V Manager.
3. Manage &/or deliver specialist R&VM support services as dictated by the R&VM maturity of the project community.
4. Actively promote R&VM culture and improve R&VM competency across the project and programme management community.
5. Monitor the output of others who undertake such R&VM activities to monitor competence, consistency and compliance with Network Rail procedures and provide assurance.
6. Manage the buying in of external R&VM support where necessary and that these are delivered to required quality standards.
7. Maintain a robust view of required levels of R&VM services and assure that suitably qualified & experienced resource is available to meet these requirements.
8. Drive the implementation of ER&VM framework across their area.
Qualifications
Suitable Rail and Risk Management background.
Expert in all aspects of project and business risk management facilitation
· Able to build risk models in a number of applications, which accurately represent the complexities of cost, schedule and business risk
· Able to coach and challenge management and non specialists, the results of risk management
· Knowledge of risk management techniques
· Knowledge of project management and project control processes
