Overview
We are delighted to be able to offer a committed and experienced Nurse who will provide clear leadership within the multi‑disciplinary team and line‑management support to identified staff. The role is part of our Clinical Services Coordinators team within the children’s community Neurodevelopmental Team. You will work closely with our allies in Allied Health and Nursing to ensure a safe and effective Autism Assessment Service for children, young people and their families. You will also work with the Operational Manager to deliver assessments effectively, and liaise with the wider health, education and social care system to provide the best support to families of children with suspected ASD, ADHD and other neurodevelopmental needs. Good IT skills are required to use our virtual and mobile working technology and affiliated systems.
Responsibilities
* Provide clear leadership within the multi‑disciplinary team and line‑management support to identified staff.
* Co‑ordinate the activities of the multi‑disciplinary/multi‑agency team, including allied health professionals, education staff and other agencies involved in the assessment of children referred to the CDC.
* Ensure parent/carer involvement, engagement and participation is at the core of all planned activities.
* Co‑ordinate and oversee the organisation of clinics, groups, assessments and reviews, ensuring efficient, effective and inclusive delivery in line with agreed CDC guidelines and processes.
* Liaise with health‑care professionals and colleagues from other agencies to ensure children attending the centre receive optimal care and appropriate goals and outcomes are set.
* Provide clinical and safeguarding advice appropriate to the role / professional background, linking with other staff such as safeguarding leads, health visitors and key managers.
* Provide support and guidance to centre staff and other agencies where issues arise regarding the medical and developmental needs of children, including social, domestic and child protection concerns, ensuring appropriate referrals in line with Child Protection Policies.
* Chair CDC reviews as required to communicate assessment/intervention outcomes, ensuring timely completion of reports and use of interpreters for families where English is not the first language.
* Work with Service Leads for NDP to ensure services meet local and national standards.
* Support Service Leads for NDP in developing positive relationships and partnership working with early years settings and providers across all agencies in the area, promoting inclusive practice for disabled children.
* Where centre managers are in place, work with the Centre Manager to ensure services are delivered in an integrated way within available resources and according to clinical and service priorities of the Children and Families Division.
* Deputise for Service Leads for NDP on an infrequent basis if required.
