Your new companyHays Education is supporting a newly established specialist provision within a mainstream primary school in Preston, catering to children in Key Stage 2 with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN). This exciting new facility is designed to provide a nurturing and structured environment for pupils who benefit from smaller class sizes and tailored support.
Your new roleAs a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support a group of up to 10 pupils, helping them access learning and manage their emotional and behavioural needs. You'll play a vital role in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive.
What you'll need to succeed
* Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in KS2
* A calm, patient and empathetic approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A valid DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Hays)
