Package: Research Teaching and Enterprise grade 8 from £59,966 to £67,468 per annum. Subject to annual pay award.

About the Role
The Senior Lecturer will lead interdisciplinary research in sustainability and circular economy, contributing to the University's strategic priorities of education, student experience, and research excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Sustainable Aviation: Advance net zero aviation research and support activity at the National Centre for Combustion Aerothermal Technology, involving modelling and experimental approaches.
* Cleaner Propulsion Technology: Strengthen collaborations with industry partners to advance net zero propulsion, renewable and alternative fuels, and sustainable powertrain systems.
* Structural Composites: Apply structural composites in wind turbine technology, hydrogen storage, space exploration, and defence, focusing on sustainability through composite recycling.
* Resilient Built Environments: Augment expertise in low energy architecture and building services, including digital design, optimisation, and decision‑making tools.
* Sustainable Manufacturing: Develop sustainable manufacturing technologies to support UK industries in hydrogen, defence, and nuclear engineering.
* Sustainable Fashion: Leverage the Design School’s expertise in circular fashion and sustainable textiles and innovative recycling of manufactured materials.
Qualifications and Experience
Successful candidates will have a sustained and continuing record of excellence that has contributed to the furtherance of knowledge in their discipline and is recognised by a well‑established international reputation. Evidence of significant academic leadership and a PhD, or equivalent research experience, is essential.
