About the Role
We are seeking a passionate, motivated, and skilled Commis Chef Pastry to join our pioneering team. In this role, you'll contribute to shaping a positive future for young people while working in a professional kitchen with high-quality ingredients, creating pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
Responsibilities
1. Prepare products from scratch, including doughs and other pastry items, with attention to detail.
2. Apply specific pastry techniques to ensure quality and presentation standards.
3. Use pastry tools and equipment safely, maintaining cleanliness and functionality.
4. Assist with setup, presentation, and replenishment for core feeding and hospitality events.
5. Organize workstation and shared spaces efficiently.
6. Contribute creative ideas for future menu development.
7. Assist with stock taking and ordering under the supervision of the Head Pastry Chef.
8. Prepare food safely, paying attention to allergens and dietary requirements.
9. Follow all food safety and health & safety procedures, completing necessary documentation.
10. Implement cleaning schedules to maintain hygiene standards.
11. Communicate effectively and foster positive relationships with colleagues.
12. Provide excellent customer service and promote a professional company image.
13. Perform occasional duties outside regular routine, including working outside normal hours for special functions (overtime paid).
14. Attend training courses as required.
Candidate Requirements
* Experience in a similar role within the service industry.
* Attention to detail and adherence to standards.
* Good communication skills in English.
* Ability to work under pressure during busy periods.
* Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
* Specialist pastry qualification is advantageous.
