(7ddd) We are looking to recruit a Support Worker for a 12-year-old who has ADHD and a Learning Disability. The position is to cover the existing worker’s maternity leave which commences soon.
The support is required to help this child access age-appropriate social and leisure activities in the local community. He has many strengths however needs practical and verbal prompting support with his independence skills and requires structure in his day.
Person Specification
The successful applicant must:
· have experience and a positive understanding about children who have disabilities· be able to respond sensitively and positively to any changes in behaviour· have a genuine interest in working with children with complex needs· have a high degree of initiative· be punctual and reliable as the child cannot be left unsupervised· be flexible and have a happy, positive and caring nature· respect confidentiality
Hours
6 hours per week every other Saturday.
2 x 6 hours per week during 11 weeks of school holiday weeks (not Christmas).
Rate of pay
£13.09 per hour.
Holiday entitlement is 5.6 weeks per year pro-rata.
Any out-of-pocket expenses will be paid by the employer.
Additional Information
Car driver required and must be insured for business use.
The successful candidate will require an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure (DBS), cost to be met by employer. Services
