Senior Duty Officer

Belfast | Permanent, Full-Time (40 hours per week)

An award-winning visitor attraction in Belfast is seeking a Senior Duty Officer to join their Operations team. This is a key role in the daily running of one of Northern Ireland's most iconic destinations - ensuring the venue operates efficiently, safely, and delivers world-class service to every visitor.

The Opportunity

As Senior Duty Officer, you'll be part of the front-line management team responsible for the smooth, safe, and effective operation of the entire site. You'll lead by example, managing staff, coordinating departments, and ensuring exceptional visitor experiences every day.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills, operational know-how, and a passion for excellence to play a pivotal role in one of Belfast's flagship attractions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Oversee day-to-day operations across all guest-facing areas, ensuring smooth and efficient running of the venue.

2. Lead daily team briefings, setting clear priorities and motivating staff to deliver an outstanding visitor experience.

3. Act as the lead decision-maker during duty shifts, ensuring high standards of safety, service, and presentation.

4. Manage and respond to any operational challenges or emergencies with professionalism and calm authority.

5. Conduct daily inspections to maintain top-tier standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency.

6. Collaborate closely with Facilities, Security, and Housekeeping teams to ensure seamless operations.

7. Support staff training, performance, and engagement initiatives to promote a positive, guest-first culture.

About You

You'll be a confident, proactive leader with a passion for operational excellence and delivering memorable experiences.

Essential:

8. 2+ years' experience in a supervisory or duty management role within a busy, customer-facing environment.

9. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate diverse teams.

10. Proven experience in health and safety compliance and risk management.

11. A calm, decisive approach to problem-solving and crisis management.

12. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.

Desirable:

13. Experience working in a major visitor attraction, leisure, or events venue.

14. First Aid or IOSH certification.

15. Experience in financial or resource management.
