Purpose and scope of role
This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Chief of Staff team at Shawbrook, supporting the Group's Senior Sustainability Manager with the continued evolution and delivery of our sustainability strategy. This cross-functional role will play a critical part in implementing, measuring, and reporting on the Group's sustainability strategy, collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders.
Key role responsibilities
1. Embedding sustainability: Support the Senior Sustainability Manager in embedding and executing the strategy to achieve strategic priorities (Planet, Society, Impact) through collaboration with stakeholders.
2. Market insights: Stay informed on emerging sustainability standards, regulations, and developments, sharing insights to maintain organizational leadership in sustainability.
3. Sustainability governance: Prepare and contribute to committee and working group papers, follow up on actions, and drive momentum.
4. Internal and external sustainability reports: Manage end-to-end processes for disclosures, including data collection and verification, aligned with external frameworks.
5. Emissions measurement: Oversee operational and financed emissions measurement, ensuring accuracy through data management and stakeholder collaboration.
6. Community and charitable activities: Manage charitable and volunteering activities, working with strategic charity partners.
The Person
* Experience in sustainability within the financial services industry, preferably specialist banking.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Strong communication skills, with high-quality written and presentation abilities.
* Self-sufficient, able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
* Ability to create compelling, detailed presentations.
* Strong stakeholder management skills.
