PURPOSE OF JOB: Processing, analysing and reporting of job costing for decision making and strategy setting. Management of the system sales and purchase ledgers. Management of the system cash book and bank reconciliations. Assist with preparation of monthly reporting, budgets, forecasts, year end annual audit, and sustainability reporting. Time will be equally split between accounting and controlling. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Prepare and report on job costing on a weekly and monthly basis, including variance analysis. Assist the Financial Controller in preparation of management accounts, group reporting, budgets and year end submissions to strict deadlines. Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, post journals and variance analysis. Responsibility for monthly Inter-Group reporting and reconciling to Group deadlines. Overall responsibility for ledgers, including sales, purchase and cash book, month end reconciliations and resolving queries promptly. Prepare supplier payments and statement reconciliation. Prepare and process materials invoices, ensuring the correct coding to job codes. Prepare and process overheads purchase invoices and expenses. Report on invoices for sustainability reporting. Check and manage the processing of timely sales invoices to ensure maximised cash flow. Monitor weekly and project payment applications to customers. Routine credit control responsibility. Daily Bank reconciliations in GBP & Euros Prepare, reconcile and submit VAT returns quarterly. Payroll payment processing management Monthly balance sheet reconciliations after the month end reporting. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: Day to day accountability to the Financial Controller. Meet the Group reporting deadlines. Timely and accurate costing preparation. Timely and accurate processing of routine ledger transactions. Reconciliation of ledgers and cash book on a routine monthly basis on Sage 200. SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES: To assist the Company in achieving the highest level of safety. Adhere to all Group Health and Safety policies and standards. E XPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: 5 years Management Accounting experience in a manufacturing company. Practical job costing experience within a manufacturing company. Experience working within a controlling environment. Experience working within a group environment and understanding the reporting deadlines expected. Exposure to Group reporting systems. High level attention to detail and accuracy. Strong analysis skills. Strong organisation skills. Good communication skills (oral and written). Good I.T. skills in financial management packages, databases and spreadsheets, preference for SAGE 200 or similar ERP system. QUALIFICATIONS: Part Qualified CIMA, management level or above, or equivalent accounting body, or QBE equivalent. AAT qualified. 5 GCSE’S Grade A - C (including Mathematics and English).
