We are currently recruiting Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Ellesmere Port.

The Role
1. Supervising classes in the absence of the teacher
2. Delivering pre-set work and ensuring pupils stay on task
3. Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive environment

Job Specification
Working as a Cover Supervisor can be a very rewarding but very demanding role. Schools may wish to employ staff for cover supervision but on occasions where they are not needed for cover, they might also be released to provide additional support to Teachers in classrooms, or to carry out administrative tasks.
Ideally, candidates will be required to:
13. Develop curricular knowledge in line with the school requirements
14. Apply the school’s behaviour management policy and report any difficulties to the class Teacher/senior leadership team
15. Set homework in line with the classroom Teacher requirements
16. Provide homework under the guidance of the class Teacher
17. Administer class tests if requested
18. Supervise the work of the Teaching Assistant, providing support if required
19. Abide by and work towards all policies within the school, eg – behaviour management, health and safety, equal opportunities
20. Carry out pre-prepared exercises in the short term absence of the class Teacher
21. Ensure students remain on task through classroom management
22. You will not be required to plan lessons, but will have the opportunity to lead the class
23. Assisting students where required and ensuring lessons are delivered
24. Collect completed work and pass to the class teacher.
