This reputable and growing firm are currently seeking a skilled Audit Assistant Manager to join their Maidenhead team on a permanent, full-time basis. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in executing audits, ensuring adherence to established procedures while providing guidance to junior staff members.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct audits in accordance with prescribed procedures, with support from senior team members as needed.
* Develop detailed audit plans, addressing potential challenges and applying appropriate tests to gather sufficient evidence.
* Assign sections of audits to junior staff, providing clear expectations and guidance.
* Monitor project progress, managing budgets and deadlines effectively.
* Conduct final analytical reviews and oversee the completion of audit files.
* Draft client correspondence related to audits and financial statements.
* Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, enhancing their effectiveness.
* Evaluate staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
Requirements
* ACA or ACCA qualified with practice experience.
* 2-3 years of post-qualification auditing experience.
* Strong audit analysis and planning skills.
* Proficiency in Excel, Word, and ideally CaseWare.
* Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior staff.
* Up-to-date technical knowledge of accounting standards.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
* Client-focused mindset with commercial awareness.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; ACA, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification required. Progressive audit experience, including at least 5 years in a senior or management capacity. Proven track record auditing social housing organisations, including Registered Providers (RPs), housing associations and other Not For Profit entities. Deep knowledge of public sector accounting, grant funding compliance and regulatory oversight (e.g., Regulator of Social Housing, Local Authority reporting frameworks). Strong grasp of financial reporting standards, internal control frameworks and risk assessment techniques. Exceptional leadership, communication, and client management abilities with a proven ability to influence stakeholders. Demonstrated capacity to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines and maintain quality under pressure. Proficiency in audit tools such as CaseWare, TeamMate and Microsoft Office Suite. Willingness to travel across the UK to support client engagements as needed. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying ahead of industry and regulatory trends.
