Harbour Healthcare is recruiting for an Activities Coordinator in Glossop. We set high standards for resident care, and as an activities coordinator, you will join a team that prioritizes residents' care and comfort. Our staff are professional, respectful, responsible, well-trained, and work together to ensure all residents receive a first-class service.


Responsibilities include:

1. Organising and coordinating activities tailored to individual needs and abilities, as well as group activities to foster social interaction. This includes themed events based on local holidays and traditions.
2. Booking external suppliers for entertainment.
3. Organising trips in the local community, considering transport and accessibility.
4. Planning a varied and stimulating activity programme to enhance residents' quality of life.
5. Maintaining written records of resident participation and reviewing their needs regularly.
6. Maintaining a portfolio of available activities within the Home and the community.
7. Participating in fundraising events as required.


General duties:

1. Attending and participating in staff meetings.
2. Completing mandatory and additional training to develop skills.
3. Communicating effectively with staff, relatives, visitors, and professional agencies.
4. Practicing and promoting safe working practices within the Home.


Candidate requirements:

* Experience working with residents living with dementia.
* Genuine interest in residents.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to motivate participation.
* Good organisational and time management skills.
* Ability to plan and schedule activities.
* Builds self-esteem and keeps up-to-date with new activities.
