SEN Teaching Assistant – ASC Specialist Class (Non-Verbal Students)

Vision for Education are recruiting for a compassionate and patient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Coventry, supporting students within an ASC specialist class group.
This role will involve working closely with non-verbal students with Autism (ASC), supporting communication, engagement and emotional regulation within a highly nurturing and sensory-based learning environment.
The school is undergoing significant expansion and is looking for staff who are passionate about SEN and want to grow long-term within a supportive specialist setting.
About the Class Group
The “Explorers” class supports students who are:
• Non-verbal or minimally verbal
• Communicating through gestures, sounds or communication aids
• Requiring sensory support and structured routines
• Sometimes displaying repetitive behaviours linked to Autism
• Learning through sensory exploration and life skills activities rather than traditional classroom subjects
Students benefit from staff who are calm, consistent, patient and able to build trusting relationships over time.
The Role
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will:
• Support students on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Help pupils engage with sensory-based learning activities
• Support communication using visuals and communication aids
• Assist with emotional regulation and transitions throughout the day
• Build positive and trusting relationships with students
• Work closely with teachers and therapists to support student development
Who We’re Looking For

Previous school experience is helpful but not essential.
