Overview

Reporting to the Head of Cultural and Organisational Development and the OD Manager, this role is responsible for the design, implementation, and evaluation of OD programmes and staff engagement initiatives. These activities will align with the Trust's strategic priorities, promoting our core values and expected behaviours to foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.


Responsibilities

* Design, implement, and evaluate OD interventions that significantly enhance the performance and effectiveness of the Trust, its divisions, departments, and teams—aligning with strategic priorities and organisational values.
* Collaborate with leaders, teams, and colleagues across the Trust to design and deliver impactful organisational development initiatives that enhance patient care and strengthen workforce development and engagement.
* Under the direction of the Head of Cultural and Organisational Development, coordinate and deliver high-quality OD interventions, utilise recognised OD and learning theories, and inform design and facilitation with data related to staff and patient experience.
* Provide expert OD advice, support, and constructive challenge to individuals, teams, and established ways of working; identify, diagnose, and commission appropriate OD support in partnership with People & OD service, senior managers, and stakeholders.
* Collate, analyse, and interpret complex quantitative and qualitative data; triangulate survey data with HR metrics; provide recommendations on OD solutions and interventions; communicate sensitive information as required.
* Monitor and support the implementation of OD projects and interventions, ensuring timely delivery against timescales and KPIs; adapt plans as needed.
* Engage with Leadership, OD colleagues, ICS partners (One Gloucestershire), and external organisations, including OD providers, Do OD Network, Health Education England, and the NHS Leadership Academy.
* Lead and support Leadership and Talent Development activities; fulfil requirements for accredited leadership programmes; establish and maintain relationships with external providers (e.g., ILM, EMCC, universities, apprenticeship providers, NHS Leadership Academy); embed talent development into organisational culture; provide coaching to Trust leaders (training provided if not already certified).
* Design, facilitate, monitor, and evaluate staff engagement events with multi-disciplinary colleagues; support the Staff Experience and Culture Manager in NHS staff survey activities and analysis; collaborate to improve engagement and experience using survey data and pulse surveys.
* Manage a diverse portfolio of OD, leadership/talent development, staff engagement, and project responsibilities to meet deadlines and objectives.
* Engage in relationships with key stakeholders including the Director and Deputy Director for People & OD, Associate Director for Organisational and People Development, Head of People Development, Lead for People Development, OD Manager, divisional leaders, GMS Leadership teams, Communications Team, One Gloucestershire ICS colleagues, external providers, and accreditation bodies.


Effort and Work Environment

* Physical, mental, and emotional effort: desk-based work with meetings and training delivery; occasional lifting or moving of training materials and setup of venues; prolonged concentration for data analysis and reporting; coaching and facilitating discussions with potentially distressing information.

Other Job Requirements

* Adhere to all Trust and departmental policies, including health and safety, risk management, data protection, and safeguarding; maintain professional appearance and uphold the Trust's values; participate in the appraisal and development process; complete mandatory training; note that vacancies may expire prior to the advertised closing date if sufficient applications are received; check eligibility for visa sponsorship under UKVI points-based system if required.
