We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated qualified clinical physiologist / clinical scientist in GI physiology, preferably with prior experience, to join as a Clinical Scientist in Lower GI Physiology. This new permanent role aims to expand our existing team.

You should have a proven track record in performing lower GI physiological investigations and qualify through the NHS Scientist Training Programme or have equivalent qualifications. This position offers a unique opportunity for career development, tailored to your professional skills and interests. Our established Unit services over 2,000 patients annually and is active in research, which the successful applicant will participate in.

The main responsibility is to conduct comprehensive diagnostic colorectal physiological investigations, analyze results, and produce clinical reports.

Ideally, you are an Accredited Independent Practitioner with the Association of GI Physiologists and registered with the HCPC, or close to achieving this status.

The role involves working within the Lower GI Physiology Unit (GIPU), conducting investigations independently, analyzing data, and contributing to audits and research. The post also includes participation in Pelvic Floor MDT meetings and training responsibilities if qualified.

The proposed job plan is:

1. 0.4 WTE – Lower GI Physiology list
2. 0.4 WTE – Reporting and MDT
3. 0.1 WTE – Audit and Research
4. 0.1 WTE – Admin

You may be required to cover duties during colleagues’ absences and at times of increased workload.
