Job overview
An experienced midwife will coordinate both the midwives and the multidisciplinary team within the Maternity Triage department, ensuring effective and safe patient flow and a quality service that adheres to local and national guidelines. The role involves advising colleagues, working closely with the Labour Ward coordinating Midwife, the Triage Ward manager, the Midwifery Matron for Intrapartum Care, the Deputy Head of Midwifery and the Head of Midwifery. The position requires excellent communication skills, evidence‑based intrapartum practice, resilience, strong organisational and innovation abilities, and a proven track record of supporting change, influencing and negotiating within a fast‑paced acute environment.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will manage a team of midwives on the maternity Triage department, develop practice as a midwifery expert, provide advice to colleagues and partners, and facilitate integrated and effective service delivery. Responsibilities include coordinating patient care, working with other agencies, managing complex situations, and contributing to continuous improvement and safety protocols.

* Teaching and experience in supervising students
* Educated to degree level
* Evidence of level 7 studies
* Educated to Masters Level

* Extensive experience at band 6 level
