HGV Class 1 Drivers
Location: Kettering / Thrapston
Pay: £18.00 Days / £19.50 Nights / £21 Sat / £22 Sun
The Role
* Average shift length: 10–12 hours
* 7-day operation (working week runs Sunday to Saturday)
* AM shifts: typically start between 05:00–07:00
* PM shifts: typically start between 16:00–19:00
* Average of 2 drops per shift, plus collections
* Curtain-sided vehicles – Will involve some handballing
Delivery area spans:
North: up to Mansfield
West: Wednesbury
South: as far as Thatcham
East: as far as Lowestoft
* Delivering cardboard packaging products
Key Responsibilities
* Safely operate and drive HGV 1 (C+E) vehicles to transport goods to designated locations
* Plan routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries
* Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure road worthiness
* Adhere to all relevant traffic laws and regulations
* Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers and logistics team members
* Shifts are booked daily with shift confirmation times texted to you the day before
Requirements
* Valid HGV 1 C+E licence
* Up-to-date Tacho Digi Card and an up-to-date DCPC Card
* Min 12 months HGV Class 1 C+E experience
* Strong understanding of road safety regulations
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* We will accept up to 6 points on your licence, but no DD, TT, DR, CD, IN endorsements.
