Job Title: Imaging Department Assistant, General X-ray team

Salary: £24,465 a year per annum, pro rata
Contract: Permanent
Working pattern: Full-time, Part-time
At present, UHNM is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requirements. The Imaging Department is looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic individual to the position of Imaging Department Assistant within the General X-ray team at UHNM.
Responsibilities
* Provide a supportive role to the imaging team to ensure delivery of an efficient and effective service; work as part of a multidisciplinary team to assist radiographers, nurses and medical staff.
* Maintain a caring, cooperative and flexible approach while upholding a professional attitude for the dignity and well-being of the patient.
* Participate in a 24/7 365-day service, with shifts covering 12.5 and 8 hour days and nights.
* Carry out reception/clerical duties including data entry; work clinically alongside Radiographers within Imaging rooms and on portable imaging.
* Act as Fire Warden (training provided).
* Carry out main duties including data input, reception, direct patient care, assisting Diagnostic Radiographers, maintaining stock in clinical areas, and departmental cleanliness.
Qualifications
* Essential: Minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalent vocational course, to include English and Maths at grade C or above
* Experience: Experience in a caring environment
* Skills/Knowledge: Computer literate, familiar with Microsoft packages, able to undertake accurate data entry; ability to organise and prioritise; attention to detail
Desirable
* NVQ2 or 3 in Care
* Evidence of personal development
* Experience in an NHS clinical role
* Experience of working in an imaging department in a clinical role
* Working knowledge of radiation information systems
* Previous visit/experience in X-ray department
* Ability to participate in a 24/7 roster and flexible approach
