Job Description:
We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled butcher to join our team on the night shift, responsible for preparing and processing a wide variety of meats, including red meat and poultry. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in professional butchery, exceptional knife skills, and a strong commitment to quality. A keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering excellence are essential to succeed in this role.
Location:
Our premises are based just south of Westminster Bridge, in the Borough of Lambeth, SE1.
Key Responsibilities:
* Skilled butcher to bone, cut, trim & dice red meat and poultry products to meet specific customer specifications
* Ensure all products meet quality and safety standards
* Able to work in a clean and safe working environment, adhering to specific company food safety requirements, including HACCP regulations
* Be a team player, working well with the other butchers, to ensure all customer orders are processed in a timely and efficient manner
Requirements:
* Proven experience in a similar role working within a catering butcher, or high-volume environment (minimum 3 years' experience)
* Excellent knife skills and knowledge of different cuts of meats
* Strong work ethic
* Positive, 'can do' attitude
* Right to work in the UK
* Familiarity with food safety practices and regulations
* Good time management skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* Presentable
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Good understanding of English
* Immediate start (ideally)
Working Hours:
This is a full time, permanent role. Whilst you may need to be flexible with your hours at busier times throughout the year, the general expectation is a minimum of 42.5 hours per week, as follows:
Monday – Friday: 10pm - 6am
Alternate Saturday's: 11pm (Friday night) – 4am (Saturday morning)
