What you will do:
* Provide high-level customer service to members, program participants, and guests.
* Supervise and guard the pool and aquatic facility, ensuring adherence to all YMCA aquatic guidelines and procedures.
* Examine injured persons and administer first aid or CPR as needed.
* Perform water rescues using rescue techniques and equipment.
* Contact emergency medical personnel in case of serious injury.
* Obtain further water safety certifications.
* Attend all scheduled in-service trainings and staff meetings.
Requirements:
* Must be at least 16 years old (swim instructor) / 15 years old (lifeguard).
* Must complete or hold current YMCA or Red Cross lifeguard certification, along with First Aid, AED, CPR, and Oxygen Administration certifications.
* Physical ability to use aquatic equipment for rescues and meet other physical requirements.
* Be alert to dangerous situations to ensure swimmer safety.
* Able to respond effectively to emergencies, administering CPR and First Aid.
* Ability to meet physical requirements outlined for the role.

* Maintain records such as attendance, skills sheets, and progress reports.
* Enforce aquatic rules and policies with constant supervision.
* Set up and store equipment, report unsafe conditions or broken equipment.
Child Abuse Prevention:
* Report hazards and suspicious behavior.
* Follow policies for child safety and supervision.
* Complete required child abuse prevention training.
