Production Manager required in Newport - new facility, small team (25), but part of a growing global group. Mon-Thurs 8:00am–4:30pm, Friday 7:00am–1:00pm.
We are looking for an experienced Production Manager to plan, organise, and control production activities to ensure the timely supply of best-value products to global retail and professional customers, while promoting lean manufacturing best practices to improve Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery performance.

Production Manager Key Responsibilities
*
Deliver weekly production plans within agreed cost and labour targets, using agency labour where required.
*
Lead departmental objectives and KPIs while promoting a strong safety-first culture.
*
Drive continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and operational efficiency across production.
*
Manage and develop a multi-functional production team.
*
Support audits (H&S, ISO9001, customer/system) and ensure full compliance.
*
Support new product introductions, trials, and pre-production runs.
*
Manage labour costs, stock control, and production data via ERP (Dynamics).
*
Recommend and support capital investment projects.
*
Ensure accurate completion of all production and quality documentation.
*
Maintain high standards of GMP, housekeeping, PPE compliance, and flexibility to meet production demands.
Production Manager Essential Qualifications & Experience
*
Production Management or Supervisory experience in manufacturing (Packaging/FMCG preferred).
*
Strong people management skills with experience leading teams of 25+.
*
Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools (5S, Kaizen).
*
Proficient in Microsoft Office and MRP/ERP systems.
*
Good standard of education (A-level or equivalent) and communication skills.
Desirable
*
Several years’ experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
*
ILM/NVQ Level 3–6 or professional production management qualification.
*
Extensive lean/CI experience in Packaging or FMCG.
