Overview

Here at GXO we are looking for a proactive and people-focused Department Manager to join our River Island contract based in Milton Keynes. You will manage day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring the smooth flow of goods and maintaining real-time control of all accountable area. You will lead by example, support your team's development, and uphold high standards of performance, safety, and customer service. This is a full-time permanent position. You will work Sunday to Thursday from 14:00 until 22:00.
Responsibilities
* Monitor progress and performance against Key Performance Indicators and costs against budget
* Create and maintain a positive team culture and spirit, encouraging involvement from all team members when sharing group, divisional and team information
* Manage the allocation of work on a day-to-day basis ensuring cost, quality and delivery targets are met
* Promote flexibility through skills training and personal development
* Experience of working in a complex, fast-moving logistics/warehouse environment, ideally within eCommerce
* The ability to work on your own initiative, whilst effectively leading a team
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Knowledge of end-to-end warehouse processes and health and safety. IOSH qualification is highly desirable

Compensation and Benefits
We’re looking to offer a salary up to £35,984 per annum, with 28 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays).
