Job Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Senior Physiotherapist to join our team as part of our inpatient rotations covering ITU, Surgery, Acute Medicine (ED and AMU), Respiratory Medicine, General Medicine, Stroke Unit, Neuro Outliers, and Neuro Outpatients.
Responsibilities
* Deliver high‑quality physiotherapy services, assessing and treating patients, including those with complex needs, using evidence‑based practice.
* Undertake comprehensive patient assessments, formulate individualized management and treatment plans, and implement a range of specialised interventions.
* Maintain professional and legal accountability for all aspects of clinical practice, including accurate patient documentation and adherence to professional guidelines.
* Demonstrate expertise in clinical governance and risk management, ensuring that treatment plans are supported by current evidence.
* Utilise advanced manual techniques and therapeutic handling, often requiring moderate physical effort.
* Stay abreast of developments within the specialty, analyse current research, and implement changes in clinical practice.
* Safely use and ensure the maintenance of physiotherapy equipment, adhering to departmental policies.
* Participate in a 7‑day working pattern, weekend rotas, emergency on‑call rotas and extended days as per rotation service need.
Qualifications
* Essential: HCPC Registered, Degree or equivalent in Physiotherapy, evidence of continued CPD with varied evidence.
* Desirable: Member of relevant clinical interest group (e.g., ACPRC), CSP member.
Experience
* Essential: Completion of band 5 rotations, including experience in General Medicine, Orthopaedics, Surgical/ICU, Elderly Care, Neuro, and Outpatients.
* Relevant postgraduate NHS experience, multidisciplinary working, training and supervision to support all physiotherapy staff and students.
* Desirable: Experience of research, experience in development of a project or service, experience at a band 6 level in the NHS.
Skills and Knowledge
* Essential: Sound knowledge of physiotherapy in the relevant area, interpersonal skills including clear, concise and effective verbal and written reports, computer literacy, organisational skills, ability to work under pressure with a variable caseload.
* Desirable: Basic management skills, ability to work single‑handedly with individuals and groups, supervisory and appraisal skills.
