An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and dedicated person to be part of the Waltham Forest Rehabilitation Service.
The Waltham Forest Rehabilitation Service is a multidisciplinary team consisting of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Rehabilitation Assistants and Rehabilitation Practitioners. The team provides short-term intensive rehabilitation to patients in their own homes following a period of illness or injury.
Main duties of the job:
* Relevant experience in a health and social care setting and base level of Occupational therapy/Physiotherapy knowledge
* Knowledge of patient/client conditions relevant to community rehabilitation
* Ability to work under own direction
* Able to travel to meet the need of the role
The successful candidate will work alongside the therapy staff to promote independence and improve function for people recently discharged from hospital.

Starting with NELFT, all new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment.
This post will be subject to a probationary period and also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,714 and a maximum payment of £5,941 - per annum, pro rata for part time).

Essential:
* Relevant NVQ Level 3 or equivalent achieved
* Relevant experience in a healthcare setting and base level of therapy knowledge
Desirable:
* Associate Practitioner Course or relevant experience
Experience:
Essential:
* Extensive experience of working as a band 3 rehabilitation assistant in a community setting
* Minimum of two years at a band 3 or equivalent
Desirable:
* Experience of providing supervision
* Awareness of relevant therapy techniques
* Experience of working in adult social care
Knowledge:
Essential:
* An awareness of NHS Plan, NSF and clinical governance priorities
* Knowledge of patient/client conditions relevant to the community setting
* Knowledge of multi-professional working
* Understand the need for professional conduct
