My client is a leading main contractor known for delivering complex, high-profile developments across London. They are currently seeking a skilled MEP Manager to lead and oversee all aspects of M&E construction from design, procurement, delivery and commissioning.
Project Details:
This is a major mixed-use residential development in North London, involving the design and construction of four new buildings across three separate sites, including elements constructed over an active railway station.
The project will deliver 190 residential units within brick-clad blocks up to eight storeys high, designed to provide a mix of affordable housing options. This includes 31 homes for affordable rent and 159 available through shared ownership.
Main Responsibilities:
* Responsible for ensuring all MEP elements are correctly scoped and procured in accordance with client requirements and project specifications.
* Acts as a key liaison between M&E consultants and on-site delivery teams, facilitating clear communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle to meet client expectations.
* Prepares detailed progress reports for internal management and the client, maintains up-to-date M&E drawings and documentation, and ensures all stages of delivery are properly recorded to comply with relevant regulations and quality standards.
* Oversees the strategy, planning, and witnessing of all commissioning activities, ensuring that all inspections and system testing are executed accurately and thoroughly.
* Provides technical oversight on design variations, advises on system functionality, and monitors subcontractor performance to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery.

* Demonstrable experience in a similar MEP-focused role, ideally with a main contractor or a reputable building services subcontractor.
* Proven ability to manage M&E commissioning activities across all project stages, from design through to final handover.
* Experience supporting the early-stage procurement of mechanical and electrical packages.
* Strong background in managing subcontractors, with a focus on health and safety compliance, quality assurance, and timely delivery—across both new-build and complex refurbishment (cut & carve) schemes.
* SMSTS certification (Site Management Safety Training Scheme).
* Relevant degree or technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Building Services.
* Practical experience using digital project management tools, particularly Fieldview and 4Projects.
* Working knowledge of utility and infrastructure standards including UK Power Networks (UKPN), BT fibre installations, and UKPS requirements.
* Sound understanding of current legislation and regulatory frameworks including Health & Safety regulations, Building Regulations, and NHBC requirements.
