The
Accountant
will provide overall support for the accounting department at 8x8. This position plays a primary role in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles as well as help ensure the accounting records are maintained in full compliance with Company regulations and the Fiscal Code provisions.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable: invoice booking, manual payments
Travel Expenses: process the expense reports and keep the relation with employees for various situations
Bank Statements: booking and reconciliation
Fixed Assets accounting: acquisition, disposal, transfer etc.
Active participation in the accounting closing process to ensure a timely and accurate month-end close in compliance with corporate requirements
Support the Accounting Manager in the preparation of corporate reporting requirements, and other reports upon request and offer support in the preparation of statutory reports and annual financial statements
Prepare VAT returns and information required by local authorities in compliance with the legislation applicable, as guided and supported by Accounting Manager
Cooperate with other departments relating to accounting, expense reports, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury (bank, corporate cards), and/or tax questions (Office Administrator, Marketing, Sales, HR, Procurement, FP&A, etc.)
Monitor and record financial transactions according to company policies and regulations
Guarantee that the company rules are correctly applied according to both the Company regulations and the Fiscal Code provisions
Provide the correctness of administrative procedures and tax
Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentation
Responsible for the accuracy and integrity of accounting entries, month-end balances, and monthly movement of accounts according to local and Group policies
Actively participate in the annual inventory process
Qualifications
Educational background in Economics, Accounting, or Finance
3+ years of general accounting experience
Experience with an ERP system
Mandatory local accounting, fiscal and accounting principles, and legislations, accounting software programs
Ability to communicate accurately and efficiently in English - advanced level
Attention to detail, risk awareness
Self-motivated person, eager to acquire experience and develop a career in accounting
Good communication skills and a proactive person
Analytical and logical thinking
Interpersonal skills: diplomacy, confidentiality, and integrity
