Business Unit/Role Specific Information Global Servicing (GS) is responsible for the company's customer service, credit, and fraud operations serving consumers, commercial clients, and merchants around the world, as well as global consumer travel and lifestyle servicing. The Summer Internship Program sits in the Business Strategy team of Global Servicing, the heart of American Express's global operations and part of the company's largest division. As an MBA Summer Intern, you will have the opportunity to influence the services we deliver and shape our future servicing strategies - supporting the team to deliver innovative and critical business projects. As a Business Strategy Intern, you can expect to: Drive and act as a champion for innovation that improves the customer experience and delivers business value. Share and leverage best practices and provide consultancy to team Apply critical thinking to synthesize customer needs, marketplace dynamics, financial drivers, and business growth opportunities into comprehensive strategies Analyze data with analytical, statistical, and optimization techniques to identify insights, opportunities, relationships, and quantify/measure results - to help transform our business operations and drive growth Lead, partner, and collaborate closely with diverse customer groups, such as Technologies and Marketing, to deliver project implementation and successful outcomes Develop cost-benefit analyses to determine the feasibility of new opportunities. Present your project to senior leaders in our organization This intern will have the opportunity to tackle a high-impact project aligned to our most pressing strategic and operational priorities such as but not limited to: Drive outcomes in real time by developing insights and presenting recommendations that shape customer experience, digital transformation, data-driven strategies, or regulatory initiatives Collaborate cross-functionally with colleagues in product, risk, finance, technology, and operations to deliver results Showcase your leadership potential through ownership of a critical business project - developing a strong recommendation ready for implementation or executing all or part of solutions. In many cases, successful interns exceed expectations and expand the original scope, leaving a tangible legacy that continues long after the internship Minimum Qualifications Current enrolled in an MBA or other advanced degree with a graduation date between December 2026 - June 2027 (e.g., Risk/Compliance/Governance, Data/Analytics, AI/GenAI, Finance, Strategy/ Innovation/Transformation, Behavioral Science/Customer Insights) A minimum of 3 years of professional experience, with a proven track record of success and increasing responsibility in management or specialized roles Commercial experience, academic knowledge and aspirations to grow their career with a top employer of choice.
