The Electrical Contracts Manager will be responsible for the full lifecycle management of various industrial electrical contracts, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the high-quality standards our clients expect. This role is critical to maintaining our reputation and driving the growth of our electrical division.
Key Responsibilities
* Contract Management: Oversee all aspects of electrical contracts from the initial tender and estimation stage through to final completion and client handover.
* Financial Control: Take full commercial responsibility for your projects, including managing budgets, pricing variations, controlling costs, and maximising profitability.
* Team Leadership: Manage and support site-based supervisors, teams of engineers, and subcontractors, ensuring high performance and adherence to company standards.
* Health & Safety: Champion a robust health and safety culture on all sites. Ensures all work complies with current legislation, industry standards (including 18th Edition), and our ISO & NIC EIC accreditations.
* Client Relationship Management: Act as the primary point of contact for key clients. Build and maintain strong relationships, ensuring client satisfaction and identifying opportunities for repeat business.
* Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements), and procurement schedules.
* Quality Assurance: Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure all electrical installation work meets our exacting quality standards and project specifications.
Skills and Qualifications
* Proven experience as an Electrical Contracts Manager, Project Manager, or Senior Electrical Supervisor within an industrial services environment (e.g., manufacturing, chemical, MOD, transport, or heavy industry).
* A strong electrical background, ideally as a time-served electrician with subsequent qualifications (e.g., HNC, HND, or Degree in Electrical Engineering).
* SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or IOSH Managing Safely.
* Demonstrable commercial acumen with experience managing project budgets, NEC or JCT contracts, and client accounts.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
* A full UK driving licence.
* Experience working on MOD or other high-security sites.
* COMPEX certification (Ex01-Ex06) for working in hazardous areas.
* Inspection & Testing qualifications (C&G 2391 or equivalent).
* Experience with HV/LV systems.
* An existing client network in Scotland.
