They're seeking an experienced Billing Team Leader to join their Feltham office and lead a small billing team, overseeing invoice preparation, processing and customer charge management. Position Overview
As Billing Team Leader, you'll play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely invoicing across the organisation's operations. You'll lead two billing clerks, manage customer invoice preparation and processing, and act as the first point of contact for billing queries and escalations. Your focus on accuracy, process improvement and team support will directly contribute to customer satisfaction and operational efficiency across the company's UK operations.
Responsibilities
Lead, support and coordinate two billing clerks, providing guidance and fostering team development
Oversee customer invoice preparation and processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
Act as the escalation point for invoice queries and resolve billing discrepancies
Liaise with air freight operations teams to capture charges correctly and completely
Maintain oversight of customer charge rates and data entry standards
Oversee bulk invoicing processes and supplier invoice matching activities
Support month-end and year-end close processes and financial reporting
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains Requirements
Proven experience in freight billing or invoicing (air freight experience preferred)
Previous experience leading or supporting a small team (desirable)
Working knowledge of Cargowise or similar billing software
Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Experience with invoice matching and billing cycles
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced office environment
Detail-oriented, reliable and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
