Overview
We are supporting a local authority near Glasgow in the appointment of an Interim Estates Surveyor, with a strong emphasis on developing early‑career professionals. This role is particularly well‑suited to graduates or trainee‑level surveyors looking to gain hands‑on experience across a diverse public sector property portfolio.
You will work as part of a supportive estates team, contributing to the management of commercial and operational assets while developing core competencies in general practice surveying.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the day‑to‑day management of the council’s property portfolio
* Support lease renewals, rent reviews, and basic landlord & tenant matters
* Undertake property inspections and assist with condition reporting
* Contribute to asset management initiatives and portfolio performance reviews
* Support disposals, acquisitions, and general estates casework
* Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders
* Maintain accurate property records and documentation
Ideal Candidate Profile
* Degree‑qualified in Real Estate, Property Management, or a related discipline
* Suitable for recent graduates or those working towards APC
* Basic understanding of landlord & tenant principles
* Strong organisational skills and willingness to learn
* Good communication skills and ability to work within a team environment
* Proactive attitude with an interest in public sector estates
