Manager, Corporate Tax, Cambridge/Luton – EY
Our Corporate Tax specialists within the EY Private and Mid-market team work with a wide range of businesses (including OMAs, multi‑generational family businesses, PE backed and AIM listed) at various stages of the business life cycle, from start‑up to multinational. The role combines tax advisory and compliance work, such as M&A structuring, exit planning, group re‑organisations, expansion into overseas territories and more. You will be responsible for building and maintaining trusted relationships with clients, acting as their day‑to‑day contact and ensuring they have access to the breadth of services that EY offers.
Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual to join EY’s Corporate Tax team based in either Luton or Cambridge. You will work with our excellent existing clients, expand your network, and play an instrumental role in winning new business during a period of rapid growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and maintain relationships with clients.
* Proactive business development to add value to existing clients and generate new opportunities.
* Manage the delivery of technically complex and demanding consulting projects, ensuring technical excellence and a practical, business‑driven approach.
* Provide development support to junior team members through effective supervision, coaching and mentoring.
* Contribute to people initiatives, including retention and training of the team.

* Strong Corporate Tax technical skills.
* Excellent client relationship management skills.
* Negotiation skills, able to sustain opinion and handle challenges.

* Excellent communicator, both written and oral.
* Broad knowledge of advising different company types including listed, PE backed, family‑owned and OMAs.
Qualifications (Required)
* ACA / CA / CTA / Tax Inspector with full Technical Training course, law qualification, tax specialist qualification or equivalent breadth of knowledge.
* Strong tax technical skills.
* Business development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to generate new work.
* Experience coaching and developing junior staff.
Ideally you’ll also have
* Project management skills to plan and prioritise work, meet deadlines, and monitor budgets.
* Creative and pragmatic problem‑solving, recognising both technical and commercial implications of advice.
