An excellent, well resourced special school in Bristol is looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant. You may have worked as a support worker, in‑class support worker or a Learning Support Advisor previously. You may have a related qualification or the ability to demonstrate relevant experience. You would be able to support children with the range of special educational needs including learning disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), sensory, speech and language impairments and behavioural difficulties.
Responsibilities
You will need to be confident in adapting the lesson activity according to pupil's individual needs and creating and maintaining a stimulating learning environment for the pupils to achieve and thrive.
Qualifications
* Previous experience working with individuals with SEN/Autism/Complex Needs/SEMH.
* Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa).
* At least one recent child-based reference and relevant DBS/ Police checks.
* You will need a Non‑Voluntary Enhanced DBS; if not available, Five Education will process it at a cost of £62.70, refunded after 20 days of work.
Pay
The pay rate is £12.81 an hour. The day is 7 hours with an unpaid 30‑minute lunch break. Your daily rate of pay would be £83.29 but with a potential to earn more based on level of experience. Including holiday pay.
