About the Role
The Duty Service is looking for permanent and fixed‑term Social Workers (minimum 12‑month contract) to work within our Duty Teams. Each team consists of six Social Workers, an Assistant Team Manager and a Team Manager.
As a Duty Social Worker you will receive referrals screened in the MASH and work closely with MASH colleagues to ensure a timely response for children and young people at risk or requiring assessment of need due to serious concerns for their wellbeing.
Responsibilities
* Screen and manage referrals received through MASH.
* Undertake timely assessments to a high standard.
* Develop and maintain care plans for children and young people.
* Provide support and supervision to your team by the Team Manager and Assistant Team Manager.
* Lead and chair meetings, including Section 47 investigations.
* Manage children subject to child‑in‑need plans or child protection plans, including legal interventions.
* Work in partnership with a range of professionals to support children and families.
Qualifications & Experience
* Excellent knowledge of safeguarding, associated legislation, guidance and practice.
* Degree in social work.
* Experience leading and chairing meetings and managing child protection cases.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
