Interim Accounts Supervisor (3-6 Month Contract) Location: Newbury, Berkshire (Office-based, 5 days per week) Contract: Interim, 3-6 months Start: ASAP We are seeking an experienced Accounts Supervisor to join our finance team on an interim basis. This hands-on role will support the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate processing, reconciliation, and reporting across accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking, and general ledger activities. Key Responsibilities Accounts Receivable & Credit Control Manage credit control and chase overdue payments Allocate customer payments and resolve discrepancies Prepare customer statements Accounts Payable Process supplier invoices accurately and on time Reconcile supplier statements and resolve queries Prepare and process BACS payment runs Set up and maintain supplier accounts Banking & Reconciliations Perform bank reconciliations Reconcile control accounts Maintain petty cash records and journals Month-End & Reporting Support month-end close processes Prepare and post journals, including prepayments, payroll journals, and general ledger adjustments Assist with management accounts and reporting Tax & Compliance Prepare and submit VAT returns Manage postponed VAT reporting and fuel scale charge adjustments Review HMRC deferment statements Process PAYE and NIC payments Financial Records Maintain fixed asset and vehicle schedules Support management and group reporting requirements Assist with ad hoc finance projects About You Previous experience in an Accounts Supervisor, Finance Supervisor, or Senior Accounts Assistant role Strong knowledge of AP, AR, reconciliations, VAT, and month-end processes Good Excel and accounting systems experience Highly organised with strong attention to detail Able to work independently and hit the ground running This is a full-time, office-based interim opportunity for an initial 3-6 month period while a permanent appointment is being recruited. £17 - £19.50 per hour Holiday Pay Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
