Overview
Consilium Recruit are supporting a well-established and forward-thinking engineering business operating at the forefront of precision manufacturing. With core competencies in the production of high-tolerance components for sectors including aerospace, automotive, medical, and industrial sectors, they are seeking a Manufacturing Manager to join their highly successful team.
Responsibilities
* Lead and coordinate all aspects of CNC machining operations, including multi-axis milling, turning, and EDM processes.
* Develop and implement production schedules aligned with customer demand and capacity planning.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
* Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and other relevant quality management systems.
* Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to resolve technical issues and optimise manufacturability.
* Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
* Manage and mentor a team of machinists, technicians, and production supervisors, fostering a culture of accountability and technical excellence.
* Oversee capital equipment procurement, maintenance schedules, and tooling strategies to support operational efficiency.
The Person
Ideally you will hold a qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline and proven experience in the precision engineering sector.
Key experience
* In-depth knowledge of CNC machining including milling, turning processes and associated tooling considerations.
* Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), material properties, and machining dynamics.
* Proficient in ERP/MRP systems and production planning software.
* Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex manufacturing projects.
* Proven experience engaging and supporting customers directly as a technical interface.
