GSL Education are currently seeking a full-time Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant to work with pupils who require additional emotional and behavioural support. As a Primary SEMH TA, you will empower vulnerable pupils by offering care, structure, and emotional guidance in their daily school life.
As a Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
* Support emotional regulation, self-esteem, and behavioural development.
* Assist with off-site learning and pupil transport where necessary.
* Build trusting relationships with pupils, families, and staff.
* Promote inclusion and wellbeing in a nurturing primary environment.
To be a Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Have previous experience supporting children with SEMH, trauma, or behavioural difficulties.
* Be calm, nurturing, and able to de-escalate challenging situations effectively.
* Must hold a full UK driving licence, have access to a vehicle, and valid business insurance.
* Be committed to making a positive impact in a child’s educational journey.
* Have an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
* Provide a full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any employment gaps over the past 10 years.
