OVERVIEW
A brilliant opportunity to join Uber Boat by Thames Clippers (UBTC) during a time of significant growth.
Founded in 1999, UBTC initially operated a single boat service from South East to Central London. Today, UBTC has a fleet of 21 vessels, serves 24 piers, and carries over 4.6 million passengers annually. We provide a unique transport service connecting London’s commuters and visitors to riverside attractions, linking the majority of riverside sites and offering private charters. Our goal is to expand to 9 million passengers per year by 2030, with plans to grow both east and west London. The business is also venturing into light freight logistics to help reduce London’s road congestion within the next three years.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Support UBTC’s Dry Dock facilities at Tilbury to ensure a safe and effective working environment under the Dry Dock Refit Site Manager’s guidance.
* Assist with welding, mechanical, painting, and electrical tasks, including equipment movement, work area preparation, and cleaning.
* Undertake driving duties, including deliveries and equipment/ personnel movement between UBTC facilities and contractor sites.
* Manage stock control at Tilbury stores, including booking in and issuing stock.
* Assist external contractors with vessel or site maintenance activities.
* Provide feedback to improve safety, standards, and efficiency.
* Ensure all dry dock work complies with environmental and safety regulations.
* Maintain a clean and safe environment and support all operational activities.
* Drive to collect and deliver parts and equipment, and assist in crew movement between Tilbury and Trinity Buoy Wharf.
* Operate forklifts and other equipment to assist with vessel maintenance and logistics.
* Keep the shed and outside areas clean using appropriate tools.
* Manage storage, tracking, and issuing of parts on-site.
* Participate in fire monitoring and site security duties as needed.

* Experience with operating forklift trucks (training can be provided), cranes, and heavy lifting.
* Knowledge of slinging and lifting equipment.
* Good understanding of Health and Safety legislation.
