Join our team as the first Supervisor for our Fenestration and Door Hardware Laboratory to drive the growth of our organization and deliver real change - in a changing world! Under supervision, the Supervisor provides oversight for the day to day operations of the Fenestration and Door Hardware lab. The supervisor will assist in scheduling, assigning and coordinating workflow to assure proper utilization, training, coaching and development of staff. Operates as a working supervisor, performing lab tests and recording of test results. - Supervises the day-to-day delivery of high-quality testing services. - Monitors the daily productivity and quality of work, allocates resources as required and troubleshoot/escalate problems as necessary. - Schedules, assigns, reviews and coordinates workflow to assure proper utilization and training of lab staff, ensuring all work is in accordance with regulatory and organizational policy, accreditation/compliance requirements. - Provides input into the annual budgetary goals, capital expenditure budget for lab equipment and tactical plans for assigned lab team. - Contributes to preparing instructions for test methods, procedures, quality control and maintenance procedures. - Examines test samples, test performance and provides input regarding issues and/or problems with test/data sheets. - Operates machines and lab equipment, may perform routine maintenance of designated test equipment and laboratory area. - Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job. - Under supervision, manages the performance of direct reports by defining accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing feedback and guidance, assist in hiring and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to. - Higher secondary education (equivalent to HS Diploma). - Technical knowledge and experience - ideally in Fenestration and Door Hardware testing, or in a similar field. - Ability to speak credibly in area of own expertise and communicate in a variety of methods. - Proficiency in English is a must. - Ability to communicate technical information in a non-technical way. - Ability to build and maintain good working relationships. - Demonstrated ability to coach and train others. - Able to develop and present training materials using a variety of methods (group presentations, video, etc.). - Ability to analyze data and trends and draw useful conclusions. - Strong customer focus and effective customer service skills. - Understands the impact of changes to requirements and can communicate the impact to the test method.
