Salary & package dependant on experience: Up to £70,000 + Package (DOE) The role & about the client: On behalf of our client, ITS Building People (Southampton) are searching for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a specialist glazing company within the Construction and Building Management markets - designing, fabricating, installing and maintaining glazing products. You will be responsible for Surveying packages ranging from £250K - £4M on Commercial new build and refurbishment projects nationally – this will mean that site travel will be required. The successful Quantity Surveyor will work within the Commercial Team and be involved in all aspects of cost control, co-ordination, installation/delivery, safety and completion of Commercial projects from the date of appointment to the conclusion of Defects Liability Period. Candidates will have experience of being the commercial lead on projects and be able to run two to three projects in tandem..
Key Responsibilities
Implementation of the Project Cost Plan and Cost Control Plan
Monitoring costs in relation to budgets
Placing of Subcontract Agreements (inc enquiry/evaluation/comparison)
Producing Payment/Payless Notices to Subcontractors
Producing Applications for Payment
Regularly attending site
Producing and agreeing Variations
Final Account Agreements
Producing Cost Value Reconciliations (CVR’s)
Helping to provide solutions to problems
Maintain good relationships with Clients
Ad Hoc duties as and when required Essential Qualifications/ experience required/ specific requirements for the role:
This position is ideally suited for person who is currently working as a Quantity Surveyor within the Glazing industry or has extensive experience of surveying Glazing packages for a Main Contractor. Training/Progression opportunities:
