The Community Neurology Rehabilitation Team is acity-wide service which provides rehabilitation support to people with longterm neurological conditions. This post offers an exciting opportunity for amotivated individual with an interest in this patient group to work within amultidisciplinary, dynamic team. The successful candidate will provide supportto the team to provide therapy interventions and specialist rehabilitation topatients. The role will primarily be based in the community but there will alsobe an element of supporting patients at clinics at St Marys Hospital.
The Community Neurology Rehabilitation Team comprises ofOccupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Dietitians, Nurses, Consultants,Rehabilitation Assistants, Therapy Assistant Practitioners andPsychologists. The post holder will bean integral part of the team. Working closely with other members of the MDT isessential to provide time limited, goal focused, patient centred care.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a Rehabilitation Assistant who willprovide support to nursing, dietetics and the therapy team. This will involveworking with patients to deliver interventions delegated by a registeredclinician. These can include delegated personal care practice, exerciseprogrammes, kitchen activities, and social activities to mention a few.
The successful candidate will have experience of workingwith the general public and within teams.You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills and be ableto communicate with service users, relatives/carers and other members of theteam. The post holder must be able towork under pressure, organising their own workload and under the direction ofothers. The post holder must have completed The Care Certificate.
Due to the nature of the role it is essential thatapplicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have accessto a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can beconsidered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
