Lead Project Building Surveyor
Location: London
Rate: Negotiable DOE
Contract: 6 months ongoing
Spencer Clarke Group are working with a public sector organisation in London to appoint an Interim Lead Project Building Surveyor to support delivery across building fabric works, repairs, and project activity.
This is a hands-on role combining technical building surveying, project delivery, and oversight of contractors and surveying resource, with a strong focus on compliance, quality, and keeping programmes on track.
Responsibilities include:
* Leading delivery of building fabric works across reactive, cyclical and small works projects
* Producing specifications, schedules of work and technical reports following site inspections
* Managing programme, budget monitoring and progress reporting across assigned schemes
* Contractor performance management, including driving improvement where KPIs are missed
* Supporting feasibility work and options appraisals to meet client needs and site constraints
* Ensuring compliance across health and safety and relevant statutory requirements
* Maintaining accurate property records and supporting planned maintenance programme development
About You:
* Proven background in Building Surveying within housing, public sector, or similarly complex estates
* Strong project delivery and contract administration experience, including term / measured term style arrangements
* Confident managing stakeholders, contractors, and prioritising a live caseload
* Comfortable with regular site presence and inspections
* Strong written reporting and technical documentation skills
