The Quality Engineer will be a key member of the quality team, reporting directly to the UK Quality Leader.
Responsibilities
1. Manage the NCR system, generate management reports, and coordinate corrective actions using tools like Kaizen, RCA, 8D, and 5Why.
2. Conduct product and process audits.
3. Create project and manufacturing control plans and ensure their effective implementation and maintenance throughout the project lifecycle.
4. Monitor and report on quality KPIs such as scrap, rework, and first-time yield, including weekly quality Gemba visits.
5. Promote a zero-defect and stop-the-line culture.
6. Ensure compliance with QMS standards (ISO9000:2015).
7. Participate in cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate risks using FMEA approaches.
8. Engage with customers during project meetings and final inspections, and prepare reports and presentations.
9. Adapt approach and time management to meet project deadlines.
Skills and Attributes
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Knowledge of quality systems, measurement tools, and techniques.
* Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA.
* Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, VSM, Gauge R&R.
* Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings and understand manufacturing processes.
* Knowledge of NATO standards such as AQAP2105/2110.
* Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Qualifications and Experience
* Relevant degree in business, engineering, or related field preferred, or HNC or NVQ Level 4 equivalent.
